Here's what I charge — no surprises. A $30 diagnostic (credited toward your repair if you go ahead), $100 for the first hour on-site, and $80/hour for remote help with no minimum. Emergencies are billed at time-and-a-half. Outside Lowndes County there's a flat trip charge by zone — all four published below. You always approve the cost before I start, and there are never any contracts.

Rates as of September 2026 and subject to change. Parts, if any, are quoted separately. A typical home visit in Lowndes County runs about $100 — I get a lot done in an hour.
How Billing Works
No meter anxiety, no fine print. Here's exactly how it adds up.
- The first on-site hour is a flat $100 — and honestly, most home and small-office jobs are finished within it.
- After the first hour, on-site time is billed in 15-minute blocks ($25 each), so you're never rounded up to a full hour for a five-minute overrun.
- Remote support has no minimum — a 15-minute fix is about $20, which makes it the cheapest and fastest way to handle a lot of issues.
- The $30 diagnostic is credited toward your repair if you move forward, so it's not an extra charge when you get the work done.
- Emergency and after-hours help (nights, weekends, holidays) is time-and-a-half — $150/hour. When you'd call after-hours.
- You always approve the cost before I start, and there are no contracts — you pay for the help you need, and that's it.
Travel & Trip Charges
Four travel zones, all four published — including the formula for the far one. Nothing gets added at your door.
Zones are measured by driving distance one way from downtown Valdosta. Your zone is on your estimate before I schedule the visit.
- One trip charge per visit — not per computer, not per problem.
- The trip charge isn't credited toward the repair. The diagnostic is; the drive isn't. The drive happened either way.
- Waived completely on any visit that runs four hours or more. If you've got a list, batch it into one trip and the drive is on me.
- Never a trip charge on remote work — and no minimum on it either. Out of town with something small? Let me try it remotely first at $80/hour, billed by the quarter hour. Usually cheaper for both of us.
- Plan members: your plan pays for the drive. Home or business plan, you pay nothing in the Near zone and half ($55) in the Mid zone. Far zone drops to $1.25 a round-trip mile with a $175 minimum.
- After-hours doesn't multiply the trip charge. Labor is time-and-a-half at night and on weekends; the drive stays flat whatever the hour.
Flat-Rate Jobs
A couple of jobs are priced as one flat number instead of by the hour, so you know the cost before I start.
- 💻 New computer setup & data transfer — $350 flat. Unboxing and Windows setup, updates and security, your printer and Wi-Fi reconnected, accounts signed back in, and everything moved off the old machine — files, photos, browser bookmarks and passwords. You get the new one working the way the old one did, not a blank desktop and a shrug. Whole House members get one a year included, after 3 months on the plan.
- 🛰️ Starlink installation — $300 flat anywhere within about 40 miles of Valdosta, and that includes the drive. Tifton, Moultrie, Thomasville and that distance out, it's $375. Past 70 miles I'll quote you before we schedule. Obstruction survey, dish mounting, cable routing and weatherproofing, grounding, router and Wi-Fi setup, and testing. That's my labor; the Starlink kit and monthly service are paid to SpaceX directly. Full details →

How much does a service call cost?
On-site, it's $100 flat for the first hour — and most jobs are done inside that hour. After the first hour, time is billed in 15-minute blocks at $25 each, so you only pay for what you use. Do you offer remote support, and how much is it?
Yes. Remote support is $80 an hour, billed in 15-minute blocks with no minimum — so a quick fix can be as little as $20. There's never a trip charge on remote work. It's perfect for software problems, email issues, and fast questions, and if you're out of town it's usually cheaper for both of us.
Is there a diagnostic or service fee?
There's a $30 diagnostic fee to find out what's wrong — but it's credited toward your repair if you move forward. So when you get the work done, it isn't an extra charge on top; it just comes off the bill.
Do you charge for travel?
Not in Lowndes County — Valdosta, Hahira, Lake Park, Dasher, Naylor and Moody AFB are all $0. Past that there's a flat trip charge by zone: $55 for 20–40 miles (Quitman, Adel, Nashville, Madison FL) and $110 for 40–70 miles (Tifton, Moultrie, Thomasville). Over 70 miles I quote it before we schedule at $1.75 per round-trip mile, $250 minimum. It's one charge per visit, it's waived entirely on any visit that runs four hours or more, and there's never a trip charge on remote work. Plan members pay nothing in the Near zone and half in the Mid zone.
Do you require a contract?
No — never. You pay only for the help you need, and you always approve the cost before I start any work. Businesses can choose a monthly care plan for predictable, always-on support, but it's completely optional.
