How Remote Support Works
Most everyday computer problems can be fixed without anyone setting foot in your home or office. Here's exactly what happens during a remote session — and how we keep it safe.
You Reach Out
Call, text, or book online and tell us what's going on. We'll confirm whether the issue can be handled remotely (most can) or needs an onsite visit.
We Send a Secure Link
You'll get a one-time connection link or code. Click it, approve the connection, and we'll be able to see your screen and help — while you watch every step.
We Fix It Together
We take care of the problem, explain what went wrong in plain English, and share simple tips to keep it from happening again.
The Door Closes Behind Us
When the session ends, our access ends. We can't reconnect later without you approving a brand-new request — you're always in control.
Before Your Appointment
A couple of minutes of prep helps us solve your issue faster — and saves you money on the clock.
- ✅ Write down the exact error message (a photo of the screen with your phone is perfect).
- ✅ Note when the problem started and anything that changed — a new program, an update, a storm, a power outage.
- ✅ Make sure the device is plugged in and connected to the internet if possible.
- ✅ Have your passwords handy (Windows/Mac login, email, Wi-Fi) in case we need them — we'll never ask you to email them to us.
- ✅ Close out personal or sensitive windows you'd rather we not see during a screen-share.
- ✅ For business clients: let us know if the issue affects one machine or the whole office, so we can prioritize correctly.
Customer FAQ
Quick answers to the questions our customers ask most. Don't see yours? Just reach out.
How does remote support work?
We send you a secure one-time link or code. You click it, approve the connection, and we can see your screen and control your mouse and keyboard to fix the problem while you watch. You can end the session at any time, and we can't reconnect later without you approving a brand-new request. Most everyday issues — slow computers, email setup, printer problems, software errors — are solved remotely without anyone coming to your home or office.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. Browning PC never locks you into a long-term contract. You can call us when you need us, or set up optional ongoing monitoring — either way, you're free to stop any time.
How fast will you respond?
We aim for same-day response for customers in the Valdosta area, and remote sessions can often start within the hour for urgent issues during business hours. For emergencies, call or text 229-561-1674 directly.
What are your hours?
Standard support hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, with after-hours and weekend help available for urgent issues. The fastest way to reach us outside normal hours is a text to 229-561-1674.
How do I pay my invoice?
Invoices are sent by email with a secure online payment link, and you can also view and pay them inside your customer portal. We accept all major cards. If you have a billing question, just call or email and we'll walk you through it.
What is remote monitoring (RMM) and do I need it?
Remote monitoring is an optional lightweight tool we can install that quietly watches your computer's health — disk space, security updates, failing hardware, and threats — so we can often fix small problems before they cause downtime. It's great for small businesses but completely optional for home users. Read more about how it works →
